Please help planning a snowmobile trip to Gorham NH area

lundi 1 janvier 2018

I'm hoping to take a trip to NH to ride a snowmobile around Berlin or Gorham in mid February, that area because I might want to move up there from GA. Hoping to fly into Boston airport and rent a car. We are used to 10 degree weather being the extreme around here but I notice minus 20 is common up there and minus 3 for the high is also. I have some thinsulate lined boots so hopefully those and if I get some thinsulate socks it will be okay for footwear. Does anyone have suggestions about whether to get gloves with battery powered warmer or gloves with a pocket for a general hand warmer pouch? From my inexperienced pov it seems the battery powered might give more even heating overal and also can carry extra batteries. Also thinking of a thinsulate face mask sock cap...does anyone know if that will cut the wind? Any suggestions you have about that, or anything would be very much appreciated! I plan to rent a coverall type item from the rental place.

Do you think rental cars from the Boston airport in winter will be equiped with snow tires? If not, how significant do you think that is likely to be? Also can any of you suggest cheap places to stay in the area? Places I've found to look into at this point are: Northern Peaks, Villager Motel, Rodeway Inn, Econo Lodge, Pilgrim Inn, Parker's Motel, Stoneybrook Motel. Any thoughts you have about them or anywhere else would be much appreciated, but remember cheap is of great significance. Also I'd prefer a place that's more off by itself than in a business area if it's possible in that price range. I'm looking for something around $50-$60 per night, or less if possible but would like a microwave in the room.

Thank you for any help or suggestions!
