crank bearing lubrication

Hi , I have a 1996 Storm 800. I took the crankcase apart , cleaned it and am about to put it all back together but I noticed some snowmobiles require the pto bearing to be packed with grease. The shop manual I have did not mention anything about greasing any of the bearings . Should I just reassemble it as is or put a little grease on the pto bearing? Also, it does say to grease the oil pump drive gear, labyrinth seal area and the end seals,any brand of grease better than others for this ?
