Hey everybody... Just bought a 94 Polaris Indy Classic 500 with 4000 miles and a lot has been replaced on it (fuel pump, plugs, wires, filters, lines, gas, oil, bearings, clutch, coolant, belt, cables) and I am still having the same problem. It starts right up and will run great for about 20 min. then just die, let it sit and it will restart within minutes but will only run for a couple minutes and repeat. I think it is overheating and having the same problem the other guys are mentioning but have no clue how to let air out, flush system or replace thermostat and don't want to keep spending money and time on it and not solving the problem.
Everything has been maintained and updated or replaced recently, but it sat for awhile before I got it. How do you know if it is the head gasket, instead of something simple like a clogged system or stuck thermostat? It has over 120 compression. This is my first sled and it's awesome otherwise and I really want to get it going properly and won't ride it anymore until I do and would greatly appreciate any help at all!
