Does anyone know if cat did somthing to fix the reed problem after 2011. Why are 10 and 11 cats so hard on reeds? I’ve got a 10 Cfr and an 11 m8 and both will eat a set of reeds(always the lower petals) in 1000 to 1500 miles. I’ve googled the topic and can only find one thread we’re a newer style cat had this issue when there’s tons of threads on the 10’s and 11’s. As far as I know the engine and reeds are exactly the same right to 2017 so are guys just not talking about it? I just finished pulling the reeds on my m8 as preventative maintenance and sure enough one side is chipped almost enough to make it run like crap.
