I have a 2001 XFC SP Edge 440 with 600 miles on it. Bought it this summer non running for my wife. I have it up and running now pretty good, but noticed that the belt will not ride up all the way on the primary clutch. I did the sharpie trick and the last inch or so of the clutch plate still had marks on it after maxing it out. It would only top out around 55-60 mph. I know I should be getting at least another 10 to 20 mph on this thing. Any suggestion on what needs to be done on the clutch. Never had one apart but looks pretty easy from YouTube videos. I can make my own spring compressor so no worries on that. Do I need to change springs, remove spacers, clean it, Not sure what to do so the clutch works right. I know its a 440 but I should be able to get more out of it than what I am.
