I just bought two Inviters, an 88 and an 89. The 88 runs like a champ, the 89 runs great for about 5 minutes and then overheats. The seller claimed he changed the impeller in the water pump and the thermostat. He seemed honest enough, don't doubt him, but I'm struggling to find the cause. Used the bleeder in the rear and the one on top of the cylinder, I got air out of the rear and solid coolant before I put bleeder back. When I get coolant out of the front bleeder, put it back in and start the motor, instead of coolant being sucked down the filler neck it actually comes right up to the top and pushes out some. I'm thinking the thermostat is stuck closed?? I have the service manual but can't seem to really locate the thermostat, do these Inviters even have one? Any ideas? I'd love to fix it myself instead of taking it to a shop! First time posting here, appreciate any help, thanks!
