Hey guys,
On my 1975 340 Olympique I had a Tillotson carburetor and it was great - when it went good! Over the course of the previous winter I learned how to nail it down pretty good with the adjustment. However, every year (for the past 3-4 years) the needle valve gets stuck (as is very common with the tillots) and I'm finding myself taking it apart to clean it.
Anywho, I decided I was going to get a Mikuni carb and the gas cable to go with it. When I went to install it I noticed that the flange bolts were 2¼" for the Tillotson and 3" for the Mikuni center on center. This meant my intake flange (correct me if I have the wrong term here) wasn't the right one. Luckily I had a .343 engine which had a Mikuni on it and the correct flange. I swapped the intake flange but this one did not need a plastic spacer (which in my experience, I've seen crack many of times).
I'd like to get another one like those, I'll attach a picture of it.
Do I have the proper term for this?
