Okay guys hope everyone had a good Christmas. I have a 1999 thundercat that I bought the water pump repair kit to do preventive maintenance on my water pump. I replaced the impeller and it's sealing washer, the little cap screw rubber washer, mechanical seal, the rear oil seal, and made sure both orings were torn or degraded. After issues of getting impeller off, I was able to get it off, sand the rust off the shaft with steel wool, and then grease up the new seals and install everything and put the engine back together. Just wanted to get some more reassurance. Everything is new, is this anti freeze coming from my exhaust? I didn't smell coolant burning, but this concerned me. I know it is probably coolant that spilled on the engine and got sucked in but just wanted to hear theories. Replaced the base and head gaskets last year and ran it in New York no problem! All I did was service the water pump to prevent something like this from happening.
