Hi there,
Last year on my cousin's Crossfire 600 starter motor was making some strange sounds. Sometimes it starts fine when I turn the key. Other times, when I turn the key it makes a screeching sound, and other times a "whirling" sound. So, I decided to take the starter motor out that is sitting above the battery.
Got it out, and bench tested it, seems to spin fine, but does not "push out".
Is it design to just spin which then engages the shaft to engage the flywheel?
What is the best way to get to the flywheel where the shaft engages? Thought I would check it out and lube it up.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks
Bob
