94 Polaris XCR 440 Coolant (Overheating)

mercredi 21 décembre 2016

Hello, I am new to the forum and I was hoping someone could help me with my sled. I have a 1994 Polaris XCR 440 that was air bound and I thought I had fixed the problem. Today after riding 4 miles into the trails my temp. light came on. My heat exchangers were warm to the touch and the front tunnel one was getting snow (the side ones weren't). The trails I was riding are hard packed/ icy and the outside temp was 31-33°F. I'm not sure if this is a coolant issue or a weather/trails condition issue. Just asking if anyone else has come across this problem with a mid 90's 440 liquid. As far as I know, the 440 xcrs (liquid cooled) don't have thermostats so I think I can rule that out. Thanks in advance for any help.
