A bit of a rant: Where the old sleds at and the humble folk

lundi 19 mars 2018

So kinda think I'm the oddball. I've got a 2 up and surprisingly to me it's not much of a slug she does ok in fact at least to me it's fast enough and I think the longer track helps with traction. It doesn't look sporty but it didn't break the bank. I'll do my own wrenching and don't mind. I also haul my sled on a utility trailer I built ramps for. Haha it's what I've got and I use ratchet straps to tie it down. In the end I get out and have fun as cheap as possible.

With my lower middle class earnings i have gotten me a boat, drive an older but decent truck, and have a brand new 24 car trailer.

Sure I could take the big enclosed trailer for my little sled but eh why? We hardly got snow this year and I feel better that I paid in cash and didn't sign up for payments or spend a bunch if the seasons a wash.

I drive a couple hrs North to ride and all I see is newer sleds and a fair amount of fancy trailers. Some comments I've overheard usually from older gentlemen are would you ride with him? or ya think that was a hand me down?

For many just heating the house in winter is something to be thankful for without having an expensive past time.

So for those that see an older sled and a make shift trailer don't judge and say rude comments to your buddies. Maybe that person is just starting out or maybe they have other hobbies. Old sleds with low miles are often found here in NY and with a lil wrenching you'll have a bit of cha ching leftover

Chime in other oddballs or old sled riders.
