New Guy Here 1995 Polaris Indy XLT Special Carb/Fuel Trouble

vendredi 10 novembre 2017

So ive been trying to bring this thing back from sitting for 3 years. Im still having problems tho and thats why im here. The problem i'm having is the ends of the choke cables are all off on all 3 cylinders (no round thing or spring) but the choke cables are all screwed into the holes on the carbs. Ill describe the problem as best as i can. It runs and idles shitty but it does run, If you pull the spark plug wires off of cylinder 2 and 3 it makes no difference, im positive they are not getting fuel and i just relentlessly cleaned the carbs multiple times. Cylinder one is getting fuel and has good spark as well but the carb is puking fuel back into the intake (like a mist or small droplets), if you pull spark plug wire on cylinder one it will die. Now my question is what the heck is going on here? All 3 cylinders dont have the ends of the choke cable on, yet cylinder 1 is the only one getting fuel. The bowls on all 3 carbs are full.

This old timer suggest that the chokes were "hung up" and suggested i pull the cylinder drains on the bottom of the block and see if gas runs out (which it did) then just decided to not help me anymore so im not really sure what that means or if it even matters.

Does not having the ends of the choke cables on Affect these cylinders in different ways that would make the one cylinder fuel and the other 2 not?

I just put a bran new fuel pump on it 3 days ago

Looking for some advice on where to go from here

Thanks in advance
