Well i went through the carbs on this phazer and put new rubber pilot plugs in and all that. Motor will run perfect right off the bat. I've now ridden it 2 times each time was about 2-3 hours of hard riding. I notice that after about 15 min of riding i start getting a backfire when i let off and reapply the throttle, then it wants to idle poorly. If i shut it off, it becomes harder to start. THe only thing i've done is I did put some extra oil in gas tank to be sure my oil pump was working, now that i know it is, i've topped the tank off with straight gas.
Any ideas what's causing the pop, i believe it's coming from the exhaust not back into the carbs. I have a set of plugs i'm going to try, but it doesn't seem like just a plug would cause this, maybe i'm wrong. It's boggy on the get go and you really have to wind it up to about 15mph and then it will pull hard like it's supposed too. That could be a clutch adjustment i know, but I still can't figure out why this machine doesn't like to start after it's been running. I could go out right now and fire it upa nd run for 15 min. on a perfectly good running motor, but if i keep riding, it will slowly become harder and harder to fire up and will pop frequently as it's warm.
