Hi there, I'm new to this forum but I've been sledding and wrenching my own machines for over 40 years. I stopped for a few years but decided to get something reliable that I could use once or twice a year just to get into my buddies cottage. I found a decent Polaris 1997 Indy Trail with the 500 Fan cooled engine. It has 6000 miles on it. It worked great all weekend as we drove over 100 miles.
I did have a fatal problem while attempting to remove my clutch today but I'll leave that drama for the Polaris Forum. Something to do with the engine seizing while I was removing the clutch.
Here is a list of sleds that I can remember my family has had over the years. I may have missed some. I'm not counting parts sleds either.
1969 Olympic ?
1971 Olympic 340 single
1972 Elan 250 single
1974 Elan 250 Twin
1976 Elan 300SS
1976 TNT Free Air 440
1976 Mercury Trail Twister 440
1981 John Deer Sprintfire
1982 Enticer 340
1996 Wildcat 700 Touring
1997 Formula 500
2003 Legend 700
2007 Summit 800
1971 Rupp Sport 340 (still have as a project)
1997 Indy 500 Trail (was running great until today)
Sadly my list of old cars and bikes is very similar.
