Sled was running great when I pulled it off the trailer this year. Went to take her for a spin a couple weeks ago, pulled the cord, it barely blipped, and stuck solid. Engine would only turn half a revolution then stop. Tore the jugs off, low and behold a bent connecting rod on mag side cylinder.
Somehow the crankcase managed to fill with fuel, and Im guessing it hydrolocked. But it would do this on start up? Ive heard of this being caused by a leaky carb, and it appears that was the case. Never seen this happen before.
So now Im contemplating what to do next. How hard is it to install a rod? Ive heard the crank is pressed together. Its a clean sled with only 2100 miles. Find a used motor? Sell it for parts? With limited riding season here in Chicago this really sucks. Good thing I had the old Phazer for some backup fun.
