'94 Phazer slight backfire and boggy at low accel

AFter cleaning all my carbs and ordering new rubber pilot plugs and replacing the lines and all that I was finally able to get my sled out for a rip last night. We rode about 20 miles. The machine runs fine, and i noticed it ran better toward the beginning of the ride, fired right up several times and besides being slow to get going it will open up around 20mph and really takes off like it should at that point.

I was not certain that my oil injection worked so I mixed a bit of 2 stroke into the tank. I noticed about halfway into the ride my machine started to backfire a little when i would let off and then accellerate again. By the end of the ride i had a hard time getting it started and was holding the throttle full throttle to get it to start and then it would barely rev until I got it opened up . Once riding, if we were moving it would run just the same, opened up at around 20mph and hauled @$$ like it should. We rode for another 10 miles or so and i was noticing some periodic backfire, then loaded up and headed home. It also seems to have a rather loud tick at idle which I'm not able to pin point.

I haven't looked at the plugs yet but i'm wondering and hoping that this is a simple fouled plug issue from running too much oil since i did mix the tank as well as using the injection which I can now confirm works. I'm going to double check all carb boots tonight and make sure i don't have any sort of leak, but I'm curious if anybody knows where to look first if you're backfiring out of the exhaust on one of these motors.

Thank you in advance. Since my problem got worse the more i ran it, i'm thinking and hoping it's just plugs and possibly too rich of an oil mix.
