1991 or 92 rxl wont start

i am new to polaris just got this sled from a friend in great shape but wont start i have fire but no fuel it seems i see no code on ecu no flashing light of any kind should i see a light when i turn on key should i see a light flash i hear fuel pump running but no light ever on ecu
