I have an old 1997 Tundra II LT that we need converting from pull start. We actually have two of those machines. We do not want to spend much money on these, we just want to get them ready for winter. They seem to be a popular machine, so we decided to revive them from storage and only want to spend money on getting them running and making them ultra reliable.
I have not seen much talk about using a drill and whether or not a simple home owners drill would work, or maybe whats required is a mixer drill, concrete drill or if I just have to find a more powerful motor like a starter motor from the car/truck junk yard to modify.
Oh ok I found a video, seems like he is just using a reg drill.
But also, lots of talk of people requiring one or two pulls to start, with parts working perfectly.
Thinking about it, will leave it for now and see how the family gets along with 1 or 2 pull starts, if there is still concern on their part I will look into more closely and fabricate an electrical motor to spin it.
