Okay, i recently bought a 94' Arctic Cat ZR580 Carb from a guy a couple weeks ago. The guy told me he had it running before, but i couldnt get it to run at all. I took the carbs off and completely cleaned them. They were pretty gummed up and gross. I also found out the fuel pump was bad and replaced it with one from another sled. This sled also has new spark plugs. I checked spark from the coil and it was extremely bright and good. Spark from the plugs is good but not quite as bright as directly from the coil. Ive also made sure fuel was getting to the carbs and it is. Ive also jumpered the wires for the throttle safety switch. If i leave the sled sit for awhile i can usually get it to start after one or two pulls, but will only idle if i keep giving it throttle. If i let the sled die or kill it, i cant get it to start again unless i let it sit for a good while. (Even if the gas is left on or off) I dont have a compression checker so i cant check that but when i pull it over, it definitely feels like it has plenty of compression. I dont really know much about carbs or sleds so any help would be appreciated! I just dont understand why sometimes the sled will start but then other times it wont. Please help! Lol.
