Hello,
Picked up a 1997 Polaris Touring Classic 500 with 135 miles. Spent it's life in the garage of an older gentleman. Mostly good shape but only runs for a few minutes and not well. I suspect I need to be rebuilding and cleaning the carbs but something else is also happening. Fuel is leaking into the sled and it seems to be coming from an odd location. Seems to be at the base of the pull starter assembly. I see where there is a tube that leads from the fuel delivery manifold (is this a pump also) down to the lower part of the engine. The other tubes of course lead to the two carbs. I'm guessing it might be this tube that is feeding fuel to the lower part of the engine that might be the source of the leak. Obviously a novice here but can't figure out how else fuel would be getting to the area where it is leaking from. It's not tracking down from any other spot that I can see. Wondering if this is enough info to trigger a few thoughts on what or where my leaking problem could be... or at least what the hose would be feeding (or not) at the lower part of the engine.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
