1990 indy 500 diagnostic help

dimanche 5 novembre 2017

My 1990 Indy is spitting fuel into the air box and starting the air box on fire. I had this problem last year after it was running great, this year I cleaned the carbs and changed the spark plugs and got 40 miles out of it before it started spitting fuel into the air box again. It is only spitting fuel out of the left cylinder, I tried switching the carbs around but it is the same cylinder every time. Any ideas??

1984 Moto Ski Sonic LC (Ski Doo’s 25th Anniversary Version) – Restoration

I am the 2nd owner of a 1984 Moto Ski Sonic LC (a twin to Ski Doo’s 25th Anniversary model, the SS25) since 1987. The sled has been registered in Western New York every year since and driven lightly.

It has the original, untouched 462cc Rotax twin liquid cooled motor. The sled serial number is #420 out of approx. 500 mfg’d. The current mileage is 4,458 kilometers (2,770 miles). Over the years some parts have been replaced like idler wheels, bearings, suspension springs, windshield, track and one ski.

Below are some pics of a late 2017 bare frame restoration I just completed. I purchased another new ski, an idler wheel, two front axle seals, headlight lens, tether switch, heated grips and suspension shock. The hood & belly pan were repaired/primed/painted/decaled and the frame/suspension/steering & other misc parts were sanded/primed/painted gloss black.

Help with 1980 yamaha enticer

jeudi 2 novembre 2017

Hello Everyone, I have been working on a 1980 yamaha enticer 340 and needs some help. I was not getting fuel to flow from fuel pump so I went ahead and checked all the lines including impulse line, fuel tank line and carb lines to make sure they were clear and no holes which they were. Next I ordered a fuel pump and put more gas in the tank. When I pulled the sled overy I could now see fuel running from the pump to the carb so the old pump was indeed bad. Here's where the problem starts, after a few pulls on the recoil the fuel stopped flowing from the pump to the carb. I checked all the lines and they are all still connected and the pump is new so I don't think it would go bad after a few pulls. Why would the fuel flow for a couple pulls and the stop? At this point all lines are clear, tank has fuel in it, fuel pump is new and the sled will start if I spray starting fluid into carb but stalls due to lack of fuel. Any help would be appreciated.

Measurements for tools

Any one have a Ryde Fx Shocks Ifp Position/Extract tool? Looking for diameter and thread size that screws into the ifp to make one. Can’t justified spending $90 for a threaded rod with a ruler on it.
