Hi,
I'd like to sell my ski-doo LT Skandic 2006 whitch has 4360 km. The machine itself is still in pretty good shape and the engine is still doing great.
Can you guys please suggest me an honest selling price?

Thank you very much!

600 XC carb sync

vendredi 22 juin 2018

Just rebuilt carbs on my 600XC. Noticed bleed type fitting (capped off) on engine side of carb. Are these used to sync carbs with vacuum guages like is done on 4 stroke motorcycles? If so how is it done?

2004 Tundra does not smoke

I was given 2 well worn Tundras- one starts and runs fine, the second starts hard, then stops after a few minutes of running (I have been told), I started this one, and it does not smoke at all! I did not run it more than a few seconds, since I worry that this means that the oiler is not working. Is there an easy way to confirm this?

New Rider Looking for Purchase Advice

Hello,

My family is looking to get into snowmobiling, but we're all completely new to the sport.

I've been researching all makes and models, but have found it confusing to say the least. I'm hoping to get some opinions from long time riders about what sleds might make the most sense.

I'm looking for at least two sleds and a trailer with a budget of $20k. I do not have a make/model preference as long as it meets a few basic needs. They can be new or used. I want something that will mainly be ridden on groomed trails throughout NYS, but I also want at least some capability for off-trail riding as my family has a small amount of land that we'll likely ride on a little bit. They need to have 2-up seat options, but do not need to be 2-up from the factory. They will primarily be solo riding sleds, but we will need the capability to take a passenger comfortably on occasion. Those are pretty much my only hard requirements.

Initially, I was eyeing Polaris Indy's as it seems like a popular beginner sled that I could get a couple new within my budget, but now I'm not really sure if they'd be good for 2-up riding or if we'd get bored with them too quickly. I've since been looking at the Polaris Switchback, Ski-Doo Renegade, or possibly MXZ's. I like that Ski-Doo offers a 2-up seat for all of their sleds.

It seems like the crossovers would fit the bill the best as they offer 2-up options, longer tracks, powerful engines, and the ability to go on and off trail, but they're also the most expensive of the options I've been looking at. I'm wondering if the Indy's or MXZ's would be sufficient.

Again, we're all new riders and none of us are fast or aggressive riders or ever really will be most likely. Don't get me wrong, I will probably ride semi aggressively and like to hit some small jumps, but I'm still a pretty reserved type rider.

So, am I considering the right sleds? Is there one in this list that I should be focusing on more than the others? Are there other makes/models that I should consider?

2 up on 600CX

I've seen ads for "Seat Jack" for 2-up riding.
Is this suitable on a '97 600CX? If not, any suggestions?

600XC carb removal

mercredi 13 juin 2018

Just bought this sled. It'd been sitting for 15 years. Drained and replaced fuel and got her running. Hard to start and idles rough. Need to rebuild carbs.
Don't see how to get carbs off. Have removed airbox cover and 3 screws on side of air box, but don't see how to get airbox out so I can get to carbs. Thanks, Kurt

Oil '97 600XC

mardi 12 juin 2018

Just bought this sled and need Oil recommendations.
I used "Johnson Evinrude" 2 stroke in outboards and was really pleased with the product.
Can I use same in my sled? If not, what should I use?

Auggg..now I created an fuel leak

lundi 11 juin 2018

In previous post, I replaced some oil bottle grommets to fix an oil leak. The pesky OIl leak is fixed!!!!!

I needed to move the carbs and disconnect some vent tubing that runs to the High Altitude compensator so I could get my hands into the engine area

I wanted to see if the primer worked, pumped it a few times and noticed gas was moving through the lines. This morning, I noticed HUGE puddle of gas under my sled....YIKES. It made for an exciting Monday morning.

I did not know where the leak was coming from. I initially suspected the spring clip to the fuel bowl, but it seemed pretty tight. I thought maybe it was the primer jets, so I disconnected them that place that line in a vertical position, I also connected all the vent lines to the tubing.

I was tired last night and did not hook up all the vents from the Carb to the HIgh Altitude Compensantor. I connected those and put the lines in a vertical position.

Any thoughts how this happened?.

Im restoring it to brand new condition the crack can be seen in the photo showing the trailing arm paint job😠 lol hate that its cracked, might try to put the crack back in place where its pushed in and leave it if i cant find one, i was gonna use automotive bumper glue then paint it but afraid it wont match the side clutch cover, if any suggestions your opinions count!
