I bought a low mileage 2007 340 LX that had sat for 3 years. It ran for all of like 3 seconds before it shut down and wouldn't restart. I worked with the seller to do some troubleshooting before he gave up. It is obvious there are fuel problems - the gas is yellow and the flow is poor. I offered him a little more than half his asking price (which was already fair) to take it as-is and he accepted. I'm a pretty skilled amateur mechanic and fully expect to resurrect the machine.
Rather than just fix the minimum needed to get it running, I want to overhaul the whole fuel system. I'm planning to drain and clean the tank and rebuild the fuel pump. I also want to service the carbs, or at least replace the needle valves and thoroughly clean the insides with carb cleaner.
My question: Is there a seal or rebuild kit available for these carbs? Individual parts seem ridiculously expensive from Polaris - $10 for a single O-ring? Please! I was hoping that one could buy a kit with all the serviceable parts so I would have everything on hand before I start and springs go flying across the workshop never to be seen again.
Thanks,
Al
