Summer Maintenance

vendredi 23 juin 2017

Hi
I am replacing all the fuel and oil lines on a 2000 Mountain Max. I have a couple of questions if anyone is on the forum at this time of year.

1. Is there a good material to replace the in-tank line that goes to the filter? The line I took out is too short to replace the filter so I just had to pull it off. Is should be about 2 longer. It looks to be 5/16". Only after-market, submersible material is really expensive, it does not look flexible and is probably to large to fit through the tank hole. Any ideas?

2. Can I use regular fuel line on the oil pump pulse line?

3. The oil lines are clear and have an odd clamp. Is there a good replacement material?

Thanks
John

Original prices of older Johndeere snowmobiles.

I am new to this forum and I had a couple questions about a 1977 JohnDeere 340 Cyclone. I was wondering if anyone would know the original selling price of a 340 Cyclone? I am also looking for the rear handles on the sides or the seat. Thanks

Publishing a Yamaha Snowmobile Story (Paid)

jeudi 15 juin 2017

Hello everyone,

I work for a Tokyo based company that works with directly with Yamaha.

We coordinate and publish these journey stories you can find here as part of our work:

http://ift.tt/2sz0cgf

We have done a lot of motorcycle stories as you can see, but we are interested in doing something a bit different this time.

I was wondering whether anyone on this forum has any interesting experiences using Yamaha snowmobiles?

Has anyone gone on a long adventure using a Yamaha snowmobile?

Have you taken pictures whilst on the journey?

We organize to have people interviewed by a New York Times journalist who then writes up the story. Each story is in 3 installments.

We pay people for taking the time out to be interviewed (over Skype or whatever) and for being able to use their photographs to accompany the story. The rate is about $1000 per installment (3 in total).

Would anyone be interested in being featured, if you have any experience like this?

Please could you possibly let me know at matt@trive.co.jp

If not you, can you suggest any other people that might be interested?

Many thanks and looking forward to hearing from some of you.

Matt

I've been having issues answering forum threads. When I try to reply with a "quick reply", I am unable to reply at all. When I go "Advanced" I can post, but formatting, such as extra lines to denote paragraphs or quote marks are lost, leaving the post as one long paragraph. I'm using Win 10 on a Dell laptop. I've not experienced issues on any other forums I have been on. Any ideas? Thanks!

PNW amateur - first sled recommendation?

Hey guys!

I'm new to the sledding world and I want to get a good sled for next season. My family just bought a cabin up on the Willamette Pass in Oregon, near Wickiup Reservoir, and I want to buy a snowmobile so I can ride all the trails up there. So I'm looking for a nice, cheap, beginner friendly, (probably) fan sled. I've been looking at 550's but they've become hard to find although there were many a couple months ago (I guess because it's smack dab in the middle of summer?) I would love to get a Ski-Doo MX Z 550 ReV fanner but they seem hard to find and the only one I can find is in Jamestown, NY. I think my only option is a Polaris Indy 550 RMK Trail thingy from pre-2001, or maybe an Indy Super Sport 550. I found a 2000 Indy SS for $1500, is that a good deal? The max I want to spend is a grand and a half (1500$) Thanks!

Jack
