Starter pull rope sticking

mercredi 31 janvier 2018

Hey all I recently picked up a 2005 Polaris 800 xc sp for tearing up around the property with the kids. Starts and runs great but the pull rope is super hard and sticks. Needs to be strung out and then yanked in spurts to get it extended. It still starts the machine but I’m worried it will just get worse. So how can I fix this? Do you think it sounds like a reel or spiral issue or sticking in the shaft? Thanks in advance.

Which sled is best?

Hi I know this topic probably comes up pretty often here but I have a few questions. Right now I’m torn between 2 different sleds. One is a 2015 Switchback Assault 800. It’s nicely dressed up with a jerry can, tunnel and handlebar bags, exhaust can, riser etc. This sled only has 100 km (practically brand new) The second sled I’m looking at is at a dealership and it’s a 2016 Switchback Assault 600 with no miles. They have old stock and they’re blowing them out. This one also has electric start. The 2016 at the dealership is also $2000 more (plus all the accessories) than the 2015 private deal.

My first question is how reliable the 2015 Polaris 800 is. I know Polaris hasn’t had a good reputation with the 800s but I’m wondering if it’s been cleared up by 2015 or not. This is probably the thing I’m most concerned with. I don’t want to spend more time in the shop than in the snow.

My second question is if the chassis or handling has changed much between the 2015 and the 2016. Both have Walker Evans shocks but the salesman at the dealership told me that the 2016 is more “flickable” and handles better overall. Not sure how much of that is true because I couldn’t find much online to back it up. To me they look like the same chassis.

I just want your overall opinions on which one would be the better buy. Thanks

Snowmobile movie?!

Hello!

When i was about 7 my uncle gave me a ripped cd with a snowmobile movie! I remeber watching that movie every single day almost, untill the cd had to many scratches.

And now that im 16 i want to see it again!

But the problem is that i dont know the name of the movie.
They were boondocking with snowmobiles from 2000 to 2004, that would be my best guess!

So thats why im asking for help!

I remember in the begining there was a "redneck" hauling a yamaha et340 or a ex440 (dont remeber), and he was hauling it on a trailer and a wheel fell off the trailer. So he ditches the trailer at the side of the road and lifts up the snowmobile on the trucks bed. It was a blue truck btw. And then he finds a place to drive and then do sick drops with that snowmobile!

Later on there was the introduction to the film with all the sponsors! I remeber there was a panoramic shot over the mountains and then the logo "ogio" was sprayed on with a special effect.
Thats all i remeber from the begining

At the end there was a hillclimb with old snowmobiles (were talking like 2002 rmk and edge x)
Could it be any Thunderstruck film or Sledneck?

Hopefully someone can understand my terrible english and how i described the movie!

Best regards// William

The picture is not from the movie i think.
