1978 Moto-Ski 340E

I just picked up a 78 Moto-Ski 340E. I will admit - I know very little about sleds. I have lived in the motorcycle and automotive areas of fun/wrenching. I figured I would buy this old beast and work to get it right for my kids to taste what a Vermont winter can be like with a sled (ok and maybe for me).

The seller had it going last year (rough) he said, but lost interest in it. He rebuilt the carb and then let it set. Apparently, he drained all the oil too - then let that sit empty (odd).

I will do the typical fluids, filter, plugs, belts, electrical check/replace. He said he was going to do the points and condenser- but never did. He handed them to me in a box. So we will see - points and a condenser are outside my scope. So YouTube here I come...

Overall it is in pretty top shape cosmetically. My son (8) is all about this thing. Daughter (11) not so much yet. I?m sure she will be when the snow flies.

Any tips or tricks for this sled?

Also - I have seen a few spots that sell parts still, but it did not come with a service manual. That is missing item I would like to pick-up.

1996 arctic cat zr 580 efi backfires out of the exhaust and intake

I got an 1996 arctic cat zr 580 efi. I did a top end rebuild on it and put everything back together and tryed to start it and it backfired so i replaced the stator. Then i tryed to start it and it still backfires bypassed the tss switch. But if i swap the injector timing sensor with the igntion timing sensor i will start but it will run like crap also i check the fuel injectors and one is no workng tested it and it is not getting ground :dunno: . i so confused i want to getting running by winter

Drive cog alignment question 72-440 cheetah

Hello all
Out in the garage workin on the drift shaft for my 1972 -440 cheetah. I put the new drive cogs on it and when it sits on the bench the cogs don't quite line up. By that I mean when you roll it the bumps on the cogs don't hit the bench quite at the same time. Are they are offset just a few degrees on purpose? Is this done on purpose maybe to offset torque on and thru the track? Or am I missing something . I did loosen up all the bolts on both and they move a little but not enough to make them line up perfectly.

Hey! I've been looking for a seat jack for my 2003 edge for a while now, but they must not come up to often! If anyone has one or knows of one please let me know! Also, is there more room on the '04 and '05 stock PASS seat than the regular edge seat?

1999 Polaris XC 600 exhaust

Hey folks. I?m looking on the Polaris website as I need a new pipe. I found a pipe on kijiji for sale but the guy said it?s off a 2003 700 SKS 144 (which I couldn?t find on the Polaris website). Anyone know if this will work with my 99? All the 2003 700 sleds have different product numbers than the 99 (1260764).
