1997 rmk 700

Hello All,

Purchased a new to me RMK 700 over the summer. Been going over it getting it ready for winter had to purchase a new primary clutch as the sheave was cracked. Went with a POWERBLOC 80 clutch. Put a new spring in the driven clutch. I have jetted the machine to the specs in the polaris service manual ( 40 pilots , 185 mains , needle clip 3rd position). KEIHIN PWK carbs are clean as a whistle. Running around 2000' elevation.


When I set my throttle gap per service manual , the slides will not fully open at full throttle. I believe the throttle cables are stretched beyond the point of being able to adjust the slack out of them. When I set the throttle slides so I have full throttle , the idle RPM is pretty well at point of engagement and the machine runs awesome. When I set throttle gap per manual and throttle slides don't open fully I get a really low end bog and then the machine wakes up around the 5500-6000 rpm mark.

I sprayed carb cleaner around the crank seals and base gaskets and no increase in RPM suggesting seal/gasket failure. I keep reading about boost bottles and SLP powerpacks I would like to try this out but canot find any for sale. I was wondering if anyone on the forums would have some available?

Hey guys I got a mod sled, it’s a xlt with a rxl converted to carbs engine in it. I found Modblaster triple pipes that are like brand new for only 150 bucks. The only thing missing is the stingers. What are those and would I need to adjust my idle?

Does my 2016 Pro S pull start have 12 volt DC ?

I do not have a 12 volt DC power receptacle on the dash. I want to power a Garmin GPS. I am wondering if there is wiring on the sled that I can connect to, or will I have to convert 12 volt AC to DC .

Oil pump adjustment, on line service diagram says 20/22 mm I run my cable out of adjustment just to get 20 , am I not getting what there showing

1994 skidoo 470 takes off

so i bought the sled and when i first got it to fire up it revved higher and higher then took off on me. lucky i could hit the kill swt before it was gone. so i cleaned the carbs and threw it all back together. i drove it a couple times, no problems. then just today i went out and revved it up crusiing down the road then it just revved higher and higher and took off again. again i hit the kill swt and brought it home. any ideas?
im thinking maybe the cables? thanks

'97 600 XC idle

Bought this sled this summer. It has 275 original miles and had been sitting for many years. I drained and replaced the fuel and rebuilt carbs. It has "summer" gas. Third pull to start and idles fine (1900 rpm). Crack throttle and Rpm holds at 3000 then slowly goes back to 1900. Haven't ridden sled (praying for snow). Should I be concerned about idle or wait til I can ride it.
