My girlfriend really enjoyed using my 2004 Polaris Edge 700 RMK 151 track with electric start, reverse this past season.
So I was looking for another one like it. Have not found one in decent shape, but I did find a 2005 Polaris Edge 700 SKS 144 track with electric start, mechanical reverse, with under 1000 miles on it, that is great shape.
It's the end of the season, as our last ride last weekend was fun, but we are both switching gears to sunny weather activities.
Really looking to replace a sled that does not have electric start or reverse, that she would enjoy.
The questions in my mind are:
1. Wait until next year, and keep my eye out for something with a longer track, and with a 2" paddle. The sled I found looks to have smaller paddles.....
2. Mechanical reverse vs Electronic reverse? Any advantage either way? On the current Edge, you just push a button....
3. Is low miles a bad thing? Like a old sports car that doesn't get driven. A 1000 miles seems awful low for a 2005. But it starts right up, and they have used it a few times a year since 2011.
4. IF I should buy it, what would be a decent offer? They have it with a trailer and tow behind, which I don't need.
5. Anything else I should consider?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I like the sled, it's clean, and well maintained, as far as I can tell. But shorter track and smaller paddles makes me a bit more hesitant.
THANKS
Bob
